A strong community starts with prevention
MOBILE, Ala. — Vaccination remains one of the most important ways families can protect children from measles and other vaccine-preventable diseases. As summer begins and families spend more time traveling and gathering, health officials encourage parents and caregivers to make sure children are up to date on all recommended immunizations.
Preventing illness is not only about protecting one child. It also helps protect infants, older adults, and others who may be more vulnerable to serious disease. Routine vaccination strengthens community health and helps reduce the spread of preventable illnesses.
“Protecting children from vaccine-preventable disease is one of the clearest ways we can support healthier families and healthier communities,” said Dr. Kevin Michaels, Health Officer for Mobile County. “Prevention matters, and vaccination saves families from avoidable illness and hardship.”
By keeping children up to date on immunizations, families can help build a stronger, safer, and more resilient Mobile community.
