MAWSS reports wastewater overflow caused by third party
MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a wastewater overflow on December 6 and December 27 at 5551 Todd Acres Drive.
An unknown amount of wastewater was spilled because of a low-pressure force main break. Mitigation and cleanup of this overflow is the responsibility of the property owner.
Dr. Kevin Philip Michaels, Health Officer for Mobile County, advises area residents to take precautions when coming into contact with any standing water that may have accumulated as a result of this wastewater overflow. Those who have come into direct contact with untreated sewage are advised to wash their hands and clothing thoroughly.
