MCHD urges residents to complete community health opinion survey on smartphone app
MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile County residents are encouraged to complete the Community Health Opinion Survey through the My MCHD Health Check app as part of the Alabama Department of Public Health’s State Health Assessment. A direct link to the survey is available on the front page of the app, making it easy for residents to share their input and help shape public health priorities.
The health of our communities depends on hearing directly from the people who live, work, and raise their families here every day. By completing the survey, residents can share what they believe are the most important health issues and barriers affecting their communities and help shape future public health priorities.
The Mobile County Health Department app is available as a free download in the App Store and Google Play. The app is available in both English and Spanish. Search for “My MCHD Health Check” or download it here: https://apps.myocv.com/share/a65536603.
In Mobile County, we know health is shaped by more than medical care alone. It is influenced by where people live, learn, work, worship, and age. That is why community input is so important. The survey gives residents an opportunity to speak honestly about concerns such as chronic disease, mental health, nutrition, access to care, transportation, housing, substance use, and other challenges that affect quality of life.
“We want every resident to know that their opinion matters,” said Dr. Michaels. “Whether your concerns involve access to services, prevention, health education, or the everyday conditions that affect wellness, your voice can help drive meaningful improvement. Please take a few moments to complete the survey on the My MCHD Health Check app.”
The State Health Assessment is an important step in identifying the health needs of Alabama residents and guiding future public health strategies. Community feedback helps ensure that decisions are grounded in real experiences and focused where they are needed most.
For Mobile County, this is an opportunity to highlight both our challenges and our strengths. By taking a few minutes to complete the survey, residents can help create a clearer picture of local needs and support actions that improve health outcomes for individuals and families throughout the county.
The survey is open through June 1. For more information about the survey, including how to participate, visit https://survey.sogolytics.com/r/LJjwdU.
