MCHD takes part in Healthy Start Annual All Grantee Conference
MOBILE, Ala. — The Mobile County Health Department’s (MCHD) Bureau of Community and Nutrition Services attended this year’s Healthy Start Annual All Grantee Conference in Arlington, Va., from September 24-27.
Bureau Director Pebbles King and Program Administrator Danielle Simpson participated in the event while showcasing the impact of the Healthy Start Enhanced (HSE) Program’s fatherhood component.
During the “Transforming Data into Community Impact” breakout session, King shared the history of MCHD’s Fatherhood Initiative and its vital role in shaping the fatherhood component of Healthy Start Enhanced. Her presentation highlighted the significant increase in father participation, underscoring how intentional outreach and group-based education have strengthened family engagement and support for children in our community.
In addition, the work of MCHD’s Healthy Start Enhanced was recognized in the conference exhibit hall through a community profile highlighting our innovative strategies and program outcomes.
The staff was honored to see their efforts showcased alongside other impactful maternal and child health initiatives.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and celebrate progress with colleagues nationwide,” Simpson said.
