Mobile County Board of Health elects officers for 2022
MOBILE, Alabama — The Mobile County Board of Health elected its officers for 2022 during its monthly meeting this week, according to Dr. Bernard H. Eichold II, Health Officer for Mobile County.
Dr. Desiree A. Soter-Pearsall will serve as chairman of the Board of Health. Taking on the role of secretary is Dr. Michael L. Sternberg, who is also the newest member.
Returning members include Dr. Michael W. Meshad, Dr. Joseph Ewing Bornstein, Dr. Stacey W. Wing, and Dr. Michael C. Chang, along with Mobile County Commission President Merceria L. Ludgood.
Dr. Meshad served as chairman of the Board in 2021. During the meeting, Dr. Eichold recognized him for the fine work he did and gave Dr. Meshad a plaque in appreciation.
Dr. C.M.A. “Max” Rogers IV has rotated off as a member of the Board of Health. During the meeting, Dr. Rogers was also given a plaque in appreciation for his time on the Board.
Pursuant to Title 22 Code of Alabama 1975, the Board of Health includes six physicians serving on the Medical Society of Mobile County’s Board of Censors and the current president of the Mobile County Commission. The Board of Health meets monthly to review Mobile County Health Department activities and to provide guidance to Alabama’s oldest public health agency.
