Mobile County Health Department Investigating Cyber Incident
All operations to continue

Mobile, Ala. – On June 6, 2024, the Mobile County Health Department (MCHD) detected unusual activity on its computer network. All Health Department networks were immediately shut down to protect all data and investigate the severity of this potential cyber incident.

All systems remain shut down at this time, and agency representatives are working with IT security consultants to thoroughly evaluate the severity of this potential incident and restore the network.  All appropriate authorities have been notified, and the impact is still unknown.

“The care and services we provide to our patients, and the community remains our key focus and mission. All services will be available, Monday, June 10, 2024, for clients and patient care, with some potential modifications. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to restore our normal operations,” stated Dr. Kevin Michaels, Mobile County Health Officer.

This situation is evolving, and public updates will be made when further information becomes available.

The Mobile County Health Department’s mission is to promote, improve, and protect the health of Mobile County.
