National Health Center Week to be celebrated August 3-9
MOBILE, Ala. — Family Health is observing National Health Center Week (NHCW) with special activities. The weeklong campaign is set for August 3 to 9. The purpose of this celebration is to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past 60 years. Family Health will highlight the impact of health centers on the nation’s health, their continued dedication to innovation, and their vision for an even healthier future.
The theme for this year’s NHCW is “America’s Health Centers: Celebrating Past, Present, and Future.” Family Health has planned special events during NHCW to coordinate with the nation-wide “focus days.” Each day of the week focuses on a unique aspect of the vital role Family Health plays as an Employer of Choice, Provider of Choice, and Partner of Choice. Join us for National Health Center Week 2025, a celebration of America’s Health Centers and their 60-year legacy of providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible care to millions.
- On Sunday, August 3rd, Celebrating 60 Years of Progress Day – Family Health will kick off National Health Center Week with a reflection of the history of health centers since their founding in 1965. Health Centers care for 1 in 10 Americans.
- On Monday, August 4th, Staff Appreciation Day – Health centers thrive because of their dedicated team members. This day honors all employees and their contributions to patient care.
- On Tuesday, August 5th, Patient Appreciation Day – Family Health will display “Thank You” banners at each Family Health location to convey our appreciation to our wonderful patients. Patients are at the heart of health centers, and this day recognizes their role in shaping care delivery.
- On Wednesday, August 6th, Health Conditions Focus Day – Health centers play a critical role in addressing acute and chronic conditions through prevention, early detection, and treatment. Family Health will use this day to highlight patient education tools, like the MCHD/FH App, which provides users with information on nutrition, cancer screenings, heart health, diabetes care, and managing chronic infectious diseases.
- On Thursday, August 7th, Population Focus Day – Health centers serve patients of all race and ethnicities, in rural, urban, suburban, and mountain communities. On this day, Family Health will celebrate its commitment to understanding the unique needs of their patients and communities, and providing quality, accessible care.
- On Friday, August 8th, Partner Appreciation Day – Family Health will celebrate its consumer board—a model of governance where patients make up 51 percent of the governing board. Family Health will celebrate its board and their contributions to the health center movement.
- On Saturday, August 9th, Gratitude and Future Vision Day – Family Health will close the week with a focus on gratitude for all who contribute to the health center mission and vision for the future. Together, we aim to serve 1 in 3 Americans, ensuring health for all.
Community Health Centers, such as Family Health, continue to prove an effective means of overcoming barriers to healthcare access, including geography, income, and insurance status — improving health outcomes and reducing costs.
