Nichols attends Love4Dads summit
MOBILE, Ala. — Nikeland Nichols serves many roles at the Mobile County Health Department. He is a Certified Community Health Worker, Coordinator of the Fatherhood Initiative, and works with the Healthy Start Enhanced program.
He has attended the Love4Dads Summit in Atlanta. This is a national convening sponsored by Healthy Start, the National Institute for Health Quality, 4Kira4Moms, and 4Kira4Dads. Nicols said the summit brought together Fatherhood practitioners, program coordinators, community leaders, and fathers from across the country who are committed to strengthening father engagement and improving maternal and family health outcomes.
“The summit featured interactive sessions focused on advancing fatherhood engagement in maternal and infant health, sharing evidence-based strategies, and highlighting best practices that support fathers as essential partners in healthy families,” he said. “Participants engaged in meaningful discussions around systems change, community collaboration, and culturally responsive approaches to serving fathers.”
In addition to educational sessions, the summit included interactive “Dad Games” and hands-on activities, creating space for relationship-building, peer learning, and authentic connection among fathers and practitioners. These activities reinforced the importance of joy, presence, and engagement in fatherhood.
“Hosted by 4Kira4Dads and 4Kira4Moms, and sponsored by Healthy Start TASC, the Love4Dads Summit provided valuable tools, insights, and national perspectives that will strengthen my ongoing work in fatherhood engagement and maternal health advocacy,” Nichols said.
