STI clinic relocates to renovated Newburn Building

MOBILE, Ala. — For the last two years, the Mobile County Health Department’s Newburn Building at 248 Cox Street in Mobile has been closed for renovations. Dr. Kevin Michaels, Health Officer for Mobile County, has announced that the work is complete and the facility is now open and serving the community.

The Southwest Public Health Clinic has relocated from Tillman’s Corner to the first floor of the Newburn Building. It is consolidating with the Tuberculosis Clinic and will collectively be referred to now as the MCHD Public Health Clinic.

“We are in our second year of operation, seeing patients from across Mobile County,” said Jasmine Solo, RN, Public Health Nurse, “and we are again ready to provide confidential, walk-in testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.”

The MCHD Public Health Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Services are available for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, and HIV infection. A $15 administrative fee is payable at the time of registration.
